A whale trade is a single large trade ($100K or more) actually executed on a crypto exchange. Unlike wallet-transfer "whale alerts" (coins moving between addresses, which often mean nothing), a trade is real money hitting the order book: someone paid $15.16M to sell BTC at market. Clusters of large trades in the same direction are one of the clearest signs of what big players are doing right now.
